מדוע השלום נכשל בדרך של עוצמה בדגם טראמפ
מאמר אורח מאת מהדי פנאהי: בנרטיב המדיניות החוץ של דונלד טראמפ,נשיא ארצות הברית,השלום דרך הכוח מתבסס על ההנחה כי הופעת כוח צבאי,לחץ כלכלי ואיום תמידי יכולים להרתיע אויבים ולהכריח בני ברית לציית. טראמפ והתקשורת התומכת בו – הן בתוך ארצות הברית והן באזור המזרח התיכון ואף באיראן לאחר 7 באוקטובר ומלחמת ה-12 יום בין משטר ישראל וישראל לאיראן – שידרו אותו דגם מוכר: הרתעה כמפתח לשלום, כבוד באמצעות כוח, ענישה לחוטאים והגנה על אינטרסים לאומיים של ארה"ב ושל משטר ישראל. אך עדויות רבות מראות שמדיניות זו לא רק שלא הביאה שלום אלא הגדילה את העלויות הגאופוליטיות, הכלכליות והבטחוניות של ארה"ב וחלשה את מעמדה העולמי. בפעולה האחרונה אף הביאה לסכנת סכסוך בדרום אמריקה ובוונצואלה.
ארצות הברית בוגדת אפילו בחבריה
לחצים וכפייה עשויים להניב תוצאות לטווח הקצר אך בטווח הארוך הם מחלישים אמון בין מדינות. אחד הסימנים לשחיקה זו הוא הדבר שהמנהיג האיראני הדגיש לאחרונה בטלוויזיה: האמריקאים בוגדים אפילו בחבריהם.
כפי שהוא אמר: "אמריקאים בוגדים גם עם חבריהם; כלומר גם עם אלה שהם חברים שלהם; תומכים בפשעיים הציונים השולטים בפלסטין; מוכנים לעורר מלחמה בכל מקום בעולם בגלל נפט ומינרלים מתחת לקרקע – היום המלחמה הגיעה גם לדרום אמריקה; ודאי שמדינה כזו אינה ראויה ששלטון כמו הרפובליקה האסלאמית יחפש קשר ושיתוף פעולה איתה."
טראמפ בניסיון השני שלו ניסה למכור הצלחה בשם שלום דרך כפייה אבל המדיניות הזו לא יצרה שלום או כוח אלא הפיצה אי יציבות וחוסר אמון.אפילו בדיחת התקשורת לגבי "פרס פי FIFA לשלום" לטראמפ היא ביטוי לפירוק הדימוי שלו.
כישלון כלכלי: חיזוק סין וויתור על אירופה
ניתוח רשמי של מועצת אטלנטיק מצביע על כך שעצירת מלחמת הסחר בין ארה"ב לסין העניקה למעשה לשוק האירופי לידיה של סין. אירופה שקודם לכן הייתה בעלת בריתה המובהקת של אמריקה מתמודדת עתה עם זרם בלתי פוסק של מוצרים סיניים ותלות חריפה במינרלים נדירים מסין לצד ירידה בכושר התחרות שלה.
This results in a strengthened China as a strategic rival to the US and diminishes Washington's influence in Europe while weakening one of the main pillars of the US-led world order – exactly contrary to claims of global peace through power.

The magazine Foreign Policy describes Trump's foreign policy as mafia logic: a country wich instead of leading extorts its allies financially and politically in exchange for security guarantees. In this view America turned from an organizing power into a protection racket demanding payments for safety.
The outlet Politico calls Trump's 300 days into his second term "the height of foolishness," explaining that while it appears he bolstered US and allied collective power unprecedentedly-leading to ceasefire in Gaza and return of hostages-the reality is far more complex and troubling. NATO allies increased defense spending mainly because they no longer trust reliance on America-a practice described as turning security alliances into protection rackets.
Peace is not merely the cessation of gunfire.Overall trump has proven far better at destroying than creating structures he inherited painstakingly from predecessors - undermining global order without presenting alternatives is folly whose costs Americans themselves will ultimately bear equally with others. This starkly contradicts Trump's media frame about showcasing strength for peacebuilding.

the international order bent under erosion;
and America downgraded from global leader to transactional actor.
this contradiction between crafted media image versus field realities explains collapse of 'peace via power' story altogether.
If war breaks out again in Venezuela it will reaffirm that Trump's policy did not build peace but aggravated instability and eroded American standing globally.
The role for truth-seeking media here is crucial-to break violent framing,
criticize destabilizing policies,
expose unreliability both American behavior
and international institutions plus provide precise depiction
of strategic failures within Trump's model.
This narrative battle will determine whether worldwide public opinion views coercion policy as show-of-strength or disintegration-of-power.
